An Evening With Nando Parrado: Crisis. What Crisis?

APARU is delighted to invite you to a unique Evening With Nando Parrado, one of the most recognized inspirational speakers worldwide. Please join us in this talk: "Crisis. What Crisis?" on 6th September at 7.15 pm. 

Nando Parrado is an internationally known speaker who has developed successful strategies for unlocking potential and excellence in the workplace and everyday life. He  is also the author of the best seller book “Miracle in the Andes”. 

In 1972 he makes a trip to Chile in the occasion of an international encounter of Rugby. Unfortunately, the flight never arrived at destination; it crashed tragically at 18,000 feet in the Cordillera de los Andes.

The two and a half months that followed changed his life completely. His mother and younger sister passed away in the accident, and Nando made a superhuman effort, and survived for 72 days, finding his way out of the Andes, after 11 days of snowy marathon trek.

Soon after the rescue of the survivors, thanks to the epic passage of the Andes of Nando Parrado and his friend Roberto Canessa, he worked with Piers Paul Read to write the world best seller "ALIVE ", and 20 years later was the Technical Advisor in the production of the film "ALIVE". where he was interpreted by Ethan Hawke.

Nando has received the three best honors that an International Speaker can obtain. In 2007 he was selected as the “keynote speaker” for the IASB (International Association of Speakers Bureaus) and in 2009, he was selected as “keynote and closing speaker” for the NSA (National Speakers Association). On both occasions, the selection is made from all the speakers in activity in the world. He has also been featured  on the June 2009 cover of "SPEAKER", the most influential magazine in the industry of conferences.

All the proceeds of this fundraising event will go to APARU´s current Charity Projects which are: Sicilia Foundation in Salta, providing scholarships for underprivileged children, and Gotitas de Esfuerzo (Drops of effort) in Bariloche providing food and support to approximately 200 people each day and psychological counselors for children and their families, especially for those who live in a domestic violent environment.
